Wayback Wednesday: Billy Joel
May 9th marks the 69th birthday of Rock N’Roll Hall of Famer Billy Joel. Born in the Bronx, and raised on Long Island, Billy has been churning out memorable, iconic songs since the early 1970’s.

May 9th marks the 69th birthday of Rock N’Roll Hall of Famer Billy Joel. Born in the Bronx, and raised on Long Island, Billy has been churning out memorable, iconic songs since the early 1970’s.
These days Billy continues his “residency” at Madison Square Garden, appearing in a sold out show there every month. Tickets are on sale in fact, for his 59th show at the Garden, scheduled for December.
Our video on Wayback Wednesday this week was first heard on his 5th album, The Stranger, released in 1977. It became one of his most enduring hits. This is from a 2006 Tokyo performance of “Just The Way You Are”.
