Wayback Wednesday: Garry Moore
Today marks the birth anniversary for Garry Moore, one of the most beloved TV entertainers of the 1950’s through the 1970’s. Garry, who was born January 31, 1915, began as a radio host, and moved into TV in its early years, hosting several daytime and prime time shows called “The Garry Moore Show”.
He also hosted the long running game shows I’ve Got A Secret and To Tell The Truth. After being diagnosed with throat cancer, Garry decided to retire from hosting. Here’s the final segment of his final appearance on To Tell The Truth in September, 1977. It exemplifies his humor and terrific hosting ability.
