GN’R’s Reunion Tour is Making History

The Guns N’ Roses “Not In This Lifetime…” tour has been making so much bank it’ll go down in the record books.

According to Billboard, the tour has so far earned over $475 million dollars and currently sits as the fourth highest grossing tour of all time.  The top three are Coldplay’s “A Head Full of Dreams” tour ($523 million),  The Rolling Stones’ “A Bigger Bang” tour ($558 million) and U2’s 360 tour ($736 million.)

Rolling Stone 50th Anniversary Special Gets Pulled

Per The Hollywood Reporter, ABC will no longer be airing its 3-hour long special in honor of Rolling Stone’s 50th anniversary.  The special was set to air on February 7.  No statement or explanation has been given by ABC, but there’s no doubt the recent sexual harassment accusations against founder Jann Wenner had something to do with it.

RIP Tony Calder

Finally, a bit of sad news to report:  Tony Calder, the promoter who helped get The Beatles first single “Love Me Do” on the radio in the U.K., has died at the age of 74 due to complications from pneumonia.  He worked for Decca Records in the 1960 and would go on to form Immediate Records with Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham.
