Def Leppard Already Working On New Release?
It hasn’t been long — only two years — since Def Leppard released its last studio album, a self-titled set. But drummer Rick Allen tells us the group is starting to hatch some recording plans for the near future:
“There’s always new songs on the go. Technology is great for that; If somebody can finish it off, send it off to someone else and say ‘I got this far, I just need a bridge or I need a this or I need a that,’ or ‘Can you finish the drums on this?. Just through a drum machine down’…We’ll do that and then probably early next year we’ll all get together, probably at Joe’s place, Joe’s studio, and then see what we’ ve got and listen to everything, all the ideas that people got, try to piece a record together.”
Def Leppard is currently taking time off after touring to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its landmark Hysteria album this year.
Allen, meanwhile, is displaying his artwork at the Wentworth Gallery in Atlanta, an exhibit that benefits military veterans via Project Resiliency’s Warrior Resiliency Program. The drummer will make a special Veteran’s Day appearance at the exhibit on Saturday (November 11).
