EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - JUNE 28: Guitar player The Edge, and Singer Bono of the band U2 perform during U2 "Joshua Tree Tour 2017" at MetLife Stadium on June 28, 2017 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The promotional shenanigans seem to be starting for U2‘s next album.

On Monday (August 21) members of the group’s fan club received a letter in the mail featuring shadowy figures of a boy and girl holding hands with much of the text obscured, save for highlighted words such as “Blackout…It’s clear who you are will appear…U2.com.” The letter ends with “U2 will announce [blackout space] on [blackout space].”

The Irish quartet has promised Songs Of Experience, a follow-up to 2014’s Songs Of Innocence, soon; A recent report out of Ireland has the new album coming out December 1 in conjunction with World AIDS Day, with the single “You’re The Best Thing About Me” due out September 8, but those dates have not been confirmed by U2.

The group is currently on a break after the European leg of its Joshua Tree Tour 2017, which resumes September 3 in Detroit, followed by shows in the U.S. Mexico and South America through October 25.
