He may have closed out night the festival’s three-night stand in Chicago over the weekend, but without a doubt, Paul McCartney owned Lollapalooza and even offered up a few surprises.
For starters, he played his Kanye West/Rihanna collaboration “FourFiveSeconds” solo, which, per Setlist.fm, is the first time McCartney has done that ever. He quickly transitioned from that song into “We Can Work It Out,” likely due to time constraints. (Festival performances couldn’t go past 10 PM, and Macca’s set started at 7:45 PM.)
Perhaps the most buzzed about moment from Sir Paul’s set was when he was joined on stage by Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard for “Get Back,” and they…absolutely…killed it.
It’s got to feel pretty amazing when Paul McCartney asks you to join him on stage!
