Searching for a feel-good story to lift you up today? Look no further than Rod Stewart!
Stewart called into 102.9 WMGK’s 9th Annual Veterans Radiothon to lend his voice to raising funds for Philadelphia’s Veterans Multi-Service Center and also surprised everyone by chipping in $10,000 to the cause! Stewart also said he would participate in every WMGK Veterans Radiothon moving forward.
This isn’t the first time Stewart has opened his checkbook for WMGK’s Veterans Radiothon; he donated $10,000 the previous year, as well.
WMGK morning show host (and Veterans Radiothon host) John DeBella praised Stewart’s generosity stating, “Last year, we had a great interview with Rod and he informed us how much veterans charities meant to him. Without telling us, he made a $10,000 to the Radiothon. We spoke to him during the Radiothon this year and once again, without telling us what he was going to do, he donated $10,000. This man puts his money where his heart is.”
Including Stewart’s donation, the Veterans Radiothon raised over $192,000 to help support our brave men and women who have served our country.
