Hendrix Tribute Planned At Isle Of Wight

The famed Isle Of Wight Festival is set to kick off June 11th, and in honor of the 45th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s legendary performance at the U.K. fest, the show’s organizers are going to try and set a world record.

Per Isle Of Wight’s official website, festival goers located at the main stage (which is being dubbed the “Electric Church”) on June 13th at 3:30 pm will all don Hendrix masks in an attempt to break the world record for the most people in the same place wearing masks at the same time.

Just imagine how beautiful (and slightly surreal) a sea of Jimi’s will look!

I know what you’re thinking:  “How will all of those people get their hands on Hendrix masks?”  They will be for sale at the festival, with all proceeds benefiting WellChild, a U.K. organization that provides aide to children with serious illnesses.  While some may balk at making festival goers purchase these masks, at least all of this is for a good cause!
