Now that he's turned the "Billy Elliot" movie into a stage musical, Elton John says he wants to turn the musical into a movie.
During a 10th anniversary performance of "Billy Elliot The Musical" earlier this week at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London, John told the BBC that, "It would be lovely to do a film version...You can only do so much on stage with the material you've got and the length of the show, so I think if one did a movie of this show it would be nice to change some things and maybe put something fresh in."
John added that, "There are other songs that we had had to leave out of the music that would be great in the film."
"Billy Elliot The Musical" has been a smash since it opened on London's West End in 2005, winning four Laurence Olivier Awards in Britain and 10 Tony Awards for the Broadway production that opened in 2008. The musical has been extended to December 2016 in London.
